Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can help clients discover new ways to cope when trouble comes to them, or to make different choices when familiar, toxic situations arise. Individual therapy involves building and increasing our ability to self-reflect, thus learning to understand ourselves better, and coming to know what drives the choices we make and the role we play in our relationships.
When we have self-awareness, we have the clarity and vision to make choices that bring us greater success in our endeavours, greater fulfillment and happiness overall.
Sometimes therapy is about standing with someone in their grief…or confusion or fear, and providing a warm presence, a listening ear for their heartache. Sometimes it’s being the guide on a path that must be travelled but is unfamiliar and difficult for us.
My approach involves forging a relationship with my clients within the context of a safe, caring, non-judgemental environment and helping them to see from a new perspective, sometimes challenging old perceptions or ways of coping that no longer serve them, often helping clients “connect the dots” so that newfound clarity and understanding can be the starting point for better directions going forward.
